Guild Rules

Arcanum Code Of Conduct

As Arcanum is a large and diverse guild it is important to have a set of rules for members to abide by to avoid unnecessary drama and unfulfilled expectations.

By becoming a member of Arcanum you explicitly agree to abide by the code of conduct outlined on this page. By breaching any of these rules you will receive a warning, or in repeat/extreme cases you will be removed from the guild. If you have any questions or concerns about any of these rules please contact one of the officers (or Gwendral) in game.

When talking in the public channels, or raiding with other guilds/pugs we expect Arcanum members to abide by the same rules that are expected of you within the guild. As a member you represent the guild with your actions.

Golden Rule: Do not waste other people's time.

General Rules

  1. Guild Chat and Vent are to be kept polite. We are a mature guild with a diverse range of members from different walks of life, and as such we do not tolerate Racism or Sexism, even as 'a joke'.
  2. No Begging! Under no circumstances should you beg for gold or to be carried through an instance.
  3. No stalking or harassment. Arcanum has a much larger representation of female players than most guilds as it is a safe and comfortable environment for all players. We have no issue with relationships forming within the guild (as happens all too often!) however male and female members alike must respect each-others space.
  4. Keep swearing to a minimum.
  5. Too-Much-Information! Please keep the lovey-dovey chat off the public channels and within whispers. Whilst it may be cute and playful, it can frustrate other members with the flood of unnecessary guild chatter.
  6. No auto-congratulations addons. If you can't go to the effort of typing it out, it's not genuine. Also, with a guild of 300 plus players, these mods cause too much spam.
  7. No linking meters in guild chat.

Guild Bank Access

All members have permission to deposit items into the guild bank, but to avoid hacking issues most members do not have access to remove items. If there is something in the guild bank that you would like, one of the officers (or Gwendral) will be more than happy to take it out for you. If none of the officers are online, send an ingame mail to Gwendral listing the item you require.

Guild Ranks

Promotions are entirely at the discretion of the guild master (Gwendral) and the officers.

  • All new members will have the rank of 'Casual/Trial'.
  • Members who have completed trials and been accepted into one of the core raid teams will be promoted to 'Core Raider'. Core Raiders can receive guild repairs and have special access to guild bank tabs.
  • Raid leaders for all core and casual current content teams are promoted to 'Raid Lead'. They are able to promote to Core Raider. Raid leaders with a Blizz authenticator are promoted to 'Raid Lead Auth' and have access to restricted guild bank tabs.
  • The 'Officer' rank is reserved for members who make substantial, ongoing contributions to the guild, and who are happy to help organise guild activities, and are considered compatible leaders with the guilds goals.
  • Guild Master is the GM rank for Gwendral

Donations

Members who donate towards helping run the guild will be promoted to a special relevant rank for their toon - with the DONOR status. Donor members have the guilds sincere appreciation, and due to their demonstrated charity will be given preference in certain guild related activities (such as casual spots in raids).

Donations include money via paypal to cover the costs of Vent/Mumble and the website (currently approx $30.00 per month), Loot Trading Cards and Blizz store items as prizes for competitions, and significant ingame donations such as chopper mounts, rare pets, etc. If you make a donation please be sure to contact Gwendral (on the website or ingame) so that we can update the donor list and thank you for your contribution!

Forum Rules

  1. Do not flame, insult or troll anyone. This is a place for everyone to discuss topics in a civil and non-aggressive manner. If you have a problem or concern with something in the forums, please contact an officer.
  2. Do not spam a thread with useless posts/replies. Remember this is a public forum for many users (Refer to the golden rule).
  3. No offensive content and/or posts. We are a mature-mannered guild, not an "inappropriate" guild.

Breaking these rules will come with consequences. Please respect others and their opinions. If your opinion is abrasive and rude, then don't post it. Use common sense and courtesy while posting.
