Guild Rules

Loot Sharing Program

To boost the speed at which all of the teams progress, Arcanum's raid teams all participate in a "shared-gearing" policy. To this effect all of the teams that participate run with the following loot rules:

  1. BoP items are rolled first for Main Spec, and then Off Spec. ALL members are entitled to roll MS or OS, including pugs or subs on that night.
  2. BOE items are rolled first for Main Spec, and then Off Spec for the toon that you are currently raiding on. If a player wins a MS or OS roll, they must EQUIP the item immediately so that the raid leader can confirm it is bound.
  3. IF a BoE item is not wanted for MS or OS, the raid leader will self loot it and send it to the GM/place it in the guild bank.
  4. Gwendral (GM) will notify the raid leaders of the items that are available and unclaimed BoE's will be given to other raiders within the other teams to help them gear up.
  5. Distribution of the BoE's in the bank is done by Gwendral based on the commitment the members have shown to their teams and their individual teams donations towards the other teams. If you would like a particular item just let your team leader know and they will likely sort it out with Gwendral.
  6. Unclaimed items that remain in the guild bank will be sold with the gold going into the guild bank. This gold is used to help pay for the raid materials used by all of the teams.

The loot sharing means that "no team gets left behind" and that the 'scraps' from the more sucessful team are used to help other raiders in the guild rather than being thrown on the AH or given to alts.

Raiding Rules

Any of the officer-run raid groups are structured to optimise the time spent raiding. Most importantly, members who are raiding are committed to trying to progress through content. As such, it is critical that raiders do not waste eachother time and abide by the following whenever in an official ARCANUM raid.

  1. Arcanum is a casual friendly guild, however due to the popularity of the core progression groups we use 'reserved' slots for raiders. This means:
    • Each raid team will be provided materials for ONE Flask Cauldron per raid night presuming they have an alchemist at relevant reputation and the team contributes towards the guild supplies.
    • The core, signed up raiders will have a reserved spot.
    • A guild calendar event for each raid will go up, allowing members to sign up to be a substitute for a specific raid night. If any of the reserved raiders are unable to attend the spot will be offered to the substitute raiders - presuming you meet the gear and experience requirements necessary
    • On each sucessive 'continuation' night, the members who stayed for the full raid will be given preference to continue. If a reserved member doesn't attend one night and a casual is subbed in - the next raid night the casual may be given preference to continue over the reserved raider.
    • Depending on the goals of a progression, lockouts may be extended beyond one week. This means that losing a spot could potentially lock you out of the raid for more than one week.
    • Unexplained absenses will remove you from the RAIDER reserve list and will result in your spot being offered to another member who can commit to the raid times.
  2. AFK's are tolerated within reason so long as you notify the group prior to leaving and don't take more than two minutes. If you require a longer break (or not sure how long you'll be), you must notify the leader so that they can either schedule a raid-wide break or replace you. Unexplained or long AFK's will result in you being replaced and likely losing your reserved spot for future raids.
  3. You must LISTEN to the raid leader (Usually Gwendral, or one of the other officers) AT ALL TIMES. Failure to follow instructions will likely not get you invited back to subsequent raids.
  4. NEVER express anger at another raid member. If you believe a member is doing something wrong, notify the raid leader so that they can instruct the person. A clear chain of command avoids dissention amoung raiders.
  5. Core raid times are different for each group. See the guild calendar ingame, or talk to the raid leader for exact times and days. All raiding members must be online and ready for invites TEN minutes prior to raid start. You must be on your raiding toon (not an alt) and online at this time otherwise you risk being replaced.
  6. Internet Stability: Whilst we understand that losing internet isn't something within your control, it has a significant impact on the groups ability to move through content. As such, anyone who disconnects or lags during a raid more than two times will be replaced. If you believe your computer in unable to handle a specific raiding night please notify the officers so that we can avoid replacing players mid raid.
  7. Distractions: To avoid wasting other players time, we expect raiders to be focused on their responsibilities they are in during raid time. You should not be preoccupied in whispers, guild chat, or elsewhere whilst raiding especially if it causes you to miss ready checks, flasks+food, or instructions from the group leader.
  8. Mucking around: Under no circumstances will any intentional stupidity "for teh lulz" be tolerated. Do not intentionally: pull whelps, jump off cliffs, try to use your jetpack to jump on a tricky ledge, misdirect on to a non-tank, LEEEEROY, or any other ingame pranks during raid times.
  9. We will schedule two five minute breaks during the raids at times that suit the group. Please ensure you bio, eat, drink, etc during these breaks to minimise interruption during raids.
  10. PERFORM YOUR ROLE: If you are assigned as a healer, do not try and do tricky extra dps 'just because you can' unless it is a core part of your classes mechanic or instructed to do otherwise. Likewise, as a DPS you should be focused on dealing damage rather than trying to do tricky other things. If you believe you can help with a specific mechanic advise the leader first.
  11. Looting works on a normal Main Spec, Off Spec rolling system. Any unclaimed BoE items will be put into the guild bank and given to raiders from the other teams who can benefit.
  12. MAINSPEC and OFFSPEC and determined based on your current role, and using the recommendations from Wow-Loot (using the ClassLoot addon).
  13. If the normal raid leader is away on a certain night, leading the raid will fall to one of the Arcanum officers.
  14. Ask your team's leader! Each raid leader may have specific rules that apply to their team, and by joining a team you agree to abide by these requirements.
